A flavonoidal glycoside was isolated from the whole plant of Hydrocotyle japonica(Umbelliferae) and identified as quercetin-3-O-beta-D-(hydroside)(C21H20O12.1/3 H20, yellow needle crystal, m.p. 249-250o, [alpha]D28o -65.94o in pyridine) by physicochemical properties and spectroscopic evidences(UV, IR, NMR and Mass etc., in comparison with authentic sample.
