Demand Estimation for Manpower to Conduct Economic Evaluation on Pharmaceuticals with the Introduction of Positive List System in Korea

Demand for manpower fo conducting pharmaco-economic evaluation was investigated. The priority order of conducting economic evaluation on the already listed drugs was set by the budget impact for health insurance by the therapeutic goups. Manpower demand was estimated by the Anatomical, Therapeutical, Chemical (ATC) code. The total number of economic evaluation on the already listed drugs is estimated to be 346 cases. Based on these numbers, at least 53~102 of full-time-equivalent (FTE) manpower is needed for conducting economic evaluation per year in the following 5 years.
