초등학교 사회과 교육과정 한ㆍ일 비교 연구

These two different countries, Korea and Japan are establishing plans on educational objectives and contents through national level curriculums in order to fulfill educational goals. In terms of the difference in the contents, when educating geography, Korea is handling all these contents such as local communities, national geography and even world geography but, in case of Japan, they are teaching only national geography. And The students at elementary school in Korea first study basic contents of economic life, and they learn more profound contents of economic life. In Japan, however, the students start to study the field of economy focusing on production and manufacturing. Regarding the field of politics, while Japan is ready to deal with political activities when their students get their promotions to the sixth grade, the elementary school students in Korea learn democracy.
