표현을 위한 조형적 사고와 사물의 관계성 연구

Study of the Interaction Between Plastic Thinking and Objects for Artistic Expression

이 연구는 현대미술의 흐름을 통해서 바라본 작가들의 경험과 조형적 사고와 사물의 관계성에 관한 연구이다. 작가들은 자신의 삶의 체험을 통해 얻어지는 생각이나 어떤 의미 등을 표현하기 위해 주변에 있는 재료, 사물들을 활용하여 자기만의 독특한 기법으로 시각적 언어를 만들어 낸다. 이 연구는 다음과 같은 질문에 대하여 탐구하고 있다. 표현활동과 사고와의 관계, 재료의 다양화와 확장된 새로운 사고, 주변 환경과 작가의 경험을 탐색한다. 또한 도구, 재료와 사고의 관계 그리고 사고와 물질, 공간의 확장 및 그 존재가치를 탐구한다. 그리고 현대미술작가들의 표현활동이 새로운 미술의 범위와 확장의 한계성에 대해 어떤 의의를 가지는지를 고찰해 보고 있으며, 시대적 상황과 환경 속에서 출발한 작가들의 사고가 표현이라는 활동을 통해 사회와 어떻게 상호간의 문제를 이해하고 소통하는지 그리고 어떤 영향을 주게 되는가에 대한 미술사적 자료와 흔적들을 탐색하고 있다. 또한 연구는 사고가 사물을 만나 표현으로 이르는 순환적 상호 관계 속에서 경험되어지는 촉각이나 시각 등의 감각적 활동이 보다 심화된 조형적 사고로 연결되거나 확장되는 경험을 통해 미술가들은 사회에 어떤 메시지를 주는지에 대해 다루고 있으며, 일반 대중들의 예술적 경험을 통한 사고의 변화는 각자의 삶에 어떤 영향을 미칠 수 있는지에 대해 논의해 볼 것이다.

This study researches the relationship between experiences and plastic thoughts of artists and their objects (materials), appearing in contemporary art. Artists use their objects and techniques in their environment to create the visual language to express themselves. This study aims to address the question of how plastic thinking, objects and artistic expression interact with each other, by studying the different formations of the relationships: expressive activity and thinking, diverse types of materials and the influence on expanded thinking, relationship between the artist surrounding environment and artists thought, and also expanded concepts of materials and space to consider immaterialism and ultimately the questions this presents on the value of existence. This study further explores the relationship between plastic thought, objects and artistic expression, by observing how contemporary artist expand the boundaries of what society defines as fine art. The study achieves this by examining circumstances of certain periods and examining how artist communicate to create mutual understanding with society. Lastly, this study expands the questions parameters to observe the influence of contemporary art and the effects of how art creates new ways of perceiving experience, vision, sense of touch and perception, and it's influence on the greater public.
