A Study on Verbal System of Juba Arabic

Physically, culturally and ethnically Sudan is a microcosm of Africa, Why? There are about 150 languages and 500 tribes. This paper describes the verbal system of Juba Arabic, which is spoken in the South Sudan near Uganda. Juba Arabic shows us different aspects comparing to literary Arabic through its preverbal markers. Before we start the subject, we mentioned the language situation of South Sudan and the characteristics of Sudanese Arabic for understanding this subject. Finally this paper has studied on the verbal system of Juba Arabic in view of stative and non-stative verbs, bi and ge, non-core verbal markers(kan, bi:ga, gum, bi ja, kala:s). And we have come to know that Juba Arabic have been pidgined and creolized through the bilateral linguistic contact.
