This article deals with the role of the myth on the modern Arabic poetry in 1950-60s. The use of myth in the Arabic literary woks have not allowed till nearly the nineteenth century because of the characteristics of the polytheism. But the myth was introduced to the Arab World by the Egyptian poets. in the 1920s. Above all, the fact that the myth took a popularity in the Arab World due to the use of the myth in T. S. Eliot's "The Waste Land". Modern Arabic poets who were influenced by "The Waste Land", through the myth, the Christian myth, the old Near Eastern myth and the Greek myth having the image of the death and revival successfully expressed their visions on the freedom from the situation of the waste land that was the reality of the Arab world after the Palestinian Disaster in 1948.
