Al-Bukhalā', Satires on Misers

Al-Bukhalā' of al-Jāḥīẓ represent one of the masterpieces of Arabic satirical works, Much of scholarly attention paid to the satire of Al-Bukhalā has been devoted to the question of laughter. In this regard, we investigate the way of laughter generation using case of repetition, reverse and exaggeration. These are prescribed by a French philosopher Henri Bergson and some Arabic critics. This study demonstrates that many humorous anecdotes of misers and the logic of stingy people on each case. It is good opportunity that this work proves itself to be a full satirical work supported by modern way of laughter generation.
