A Study on Arabic Annexation -Syntactical Study-

This study is an attempt to achieve some goals. The first of all is to provide a comprehension of the syntax of annexation (?idaafah) constructions in Arabic in the framework of the Government-Binding framework, and to provide a descriptively adequate account of the syntax of annexation constructions in Arabic. So I relied on the theory developed in sentence analyses to describe the structure of the annexation constructions. Chapter one treats the definitions of Annexation and the kinds by traditional Arabic Grammarian and modern linguists. In Chapter two, I tried to reveal the position of Annexation between Clause and Phrase. In Chapter three, this paper tried to describe the Structure of Annxation. And in chapter four, Conclusion includes the results this paper reached.
