Napoleon's expedition to Egypt in 1798 has remarked a turning point in the relationships between Arab world and Western world. This accident has brought into Arab world Western culture and technology, and made a basis for the modernization of Arab world. In various fields, revival movements so called Nahdah has spread in Arab society. In particular, Arabic revival movement has started as a means of Arab nationalism and the reformation of Arab society. It was represented as the translation of western technical, scientific books and the reformation of Arabic terminologies available to accept western advanced technology. And it was followed the establishment of Arabic schools and institutions. The aim of this article is to shed light on Arabic revival movement in Egypt, North Africa and fertile crescent region, and to investigate some problems of Arabic revival movement with a historical point of view.
