A Study on Arabic Stress

This study aims to analyze Arabic stress. Arabic stress has an important role in Arabic Linguistics. Because the stress has phonological, morphological, and syntactical function according to its position. Ancient arabic scholars did not study it in a separative sphere, but they jest understood it. So they have dealt with such similar sciences as tazwid and prosody. The purpose of this paper is to look for the relation between stress and tazwid and prosody. This paper includes such parts as introduction, meaning of stress, sorts of stress, linguistic function of stress, stress shift, system of stress, relation between stress and another science, and conclusion. Through this study, I hope that the Korean learners of Arabic could understand exact positions of stress and system of the Arabic stress, and pronounce Arabic more easily.
