A Study on Cognizance of the Jordan Spoken Arabic

The present study is aimed at investigating the educated Jordan peoples' cognizance and attitude toward the varieties of spoken Arabic in Jordan (namely Bedouin, Madani and Fallāḥi variety). To investigate the cognizance and attitude, I carried the questionnaire about the cognizance of the spoken Arabic in Jordan in 2000. The respondents of whom 188 were male and 132 female constituted a sample which represented a cross-section of the varieties under investigation in Jordan. I tried to compare my result with the previous studies that had studied in another Arab countries. And I tried to find the common and distinctive features among them. AM also I expected to find the most suitable variety in Arabic, when the Korean students study the Arabic.
