This study deals with Muḥammad 'Abd al-Ḥalīm 'Abd Allāh's world view through his novels. The novels can be divided into two stages. In the works of the first stage there are many signs of patriarchal orders; the hero's positive attitude toward his father, strong desire for having his own son and negative view on female characters. The hero succeeds in keeping or rebuilding his family in the fictional world. In contrast, the heroin who, in general, is a Cairene emancipated lover, is usually destined to meet a tragic end. These characteristics show 'Abd Allāh's conservative perspective in the forties and fifties. But in the works of second stage, the hero-narrator of first person disappeared completely and the omniscient narrator of third person generally represents the objective attitude toward the fictional world. Besides, the hero's view on his father became in lack of respect, obedience and sympathy, and women were portrayed as positive characters in many cases. So it can be said that Muḥammad 'Abd al-Ḥalīm 'Abd Allāh became - relatively - free from the conservative perspective and tried to adopt a new progressive vision, which seems to be 1952 Revolution's influence on him.
