『난소사토미핫켄덴 南総里見八犬伝』의 8견사 八犬士 와 8선녀 八仙女ㆍ8선 八仙

A study on the 8 dog hermits of nansosatomihakkenden and the relationship to 8 nymphs, 8 immortals

『난소사토미핫켄덴 南総里見八犬伝』은 교쿠테이 바킨 曲亭馬琴이 28년간의 세월에 걸쳐 쓴 에도시대의 장편소설이다. 본고에서는 동 작품에 등장하는 후세히메 伏姫와 여덟 명의 주인공, 즉 팔견사 八犬士의 1대 8인물구성방법이 김만중(金萬重)의 고소설인 조선시대의『구운몽(九雲夢)』에 등장하는 성진과 8선녀, 또는 「날개 옷 전설 羽衣伝説」에 등장하는 금강산 나무꾼과 8선녀의 그것과 유사하다는 점에 착안하여 이러한 인물구성방법이 중국의 도교적 세계관에서 보이는 8선녀 八仙女, 또는 8선 八仙 에서 비롯되었을 가능성을 고찰하였다. 먼저 첫 번째로는, 8개의 구슬을 지닌 8명의 견사가 후세히메로부터 흩어졌다 다시 한 자리에 모이고는 산에 들어가 8신선이 된다는『핫켄덴』의 설정이, 역시 성진으로부터 8개의 구슬을 받은 8선녀가 흩어졌다 다시 모인다는『구운몽』의 그것과 유사하며, 이러한 인물구성방법은 중국의 칠선녀 전설을 비롯해 동아시아의 날개옷 전설, 유라시아의 백조처녀전설, 서구의『백설 공주와 일곱 난쟁이』 등에도 보인다는 점을 지적하였다. 두 번째로는,『핫켄덴』에 등장하는 8견사 중, 홍일점 여자 견사로 남녀변용 야쓰시된 케노 毛野와, 소년 견사로 그려지는 신베 新兵衛의 인물상 조형에 있어서 중국의 팔선(八仙) 중 유일한 홍일점 여자 신선인 하선고(何仙姑)와 동자신선으로 그려지는 경우가 많은 남채화(藍菜和)가 참고가 되었을 가능성을 추정해 보았다. 그리고 이 같은 홍일점 및 소년 주인공을 반드시 한 명씩 배치하는 인물구성 방법이 일본근세의 가부키 歌舞伎 및 현대 일본 애니메이션에도 영향을 주었을 가능성을 살펴보았다.

A long novel Nansosatomihakkenden which was written by kyokutei bakin and published during 28 years in Edo period. I noticed that 1 to 8 character structure(husehime and 8 heroes) is similar to the cloud dream of the nine's main character (songjin and 8 nymphs) structure. I also noticed that this 1 to 8 character structure can be see in East asia's Swan maiden story. I assumed that this pattern came from Chinese 8 nymphs and 8 immortals. First, Nansosatomihakkenden's 8 dog hermits who have 8 gems each other flock to one place, and they go into the mountain to be immortal. This flot is so similar to the cloud dream of the nine's. Because the 8 nymphs who have 8 gems each other flock to one place too after all. This pattern can be see in Chinese 7 nymph's story or Eurasian swan maiden story, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs story. Second, I wondered why there are one woman(her name is keno) and one boy(his name is sinbe) in Nansosatomihakkenden's 8 dog hermits. I noticed that there are one woman and one boy ( her name is hasongo, the boy's name is namchewha ) in 8 immortals too. In conclusion, I suggested that bakin got 8 dog hermits's character structure came from this Chinese 8 nymphs and 8 immortals.
