생태적 관점에서 본 현대교육의 문제점과 대안

An Exploration of the Problems and Suggestions on Modern Education from the Ecological Perspective

이 연구는 오늘날 현대교육에 내재된 문제점을 분석해보고, 이에 대한 대안 탐색을 위해 생태학적 관점에서 성찰적으로 고찰하였다. 따라서 서구모더니즘의 사상적 토대가 된 기계론적 자연관과 개인주의적 세계관의 기본 가정들이 현대교육에 반영된 양상과 그 한계에 대해 비판적으로 살펴보았으며, 이러한 현대교육의 한계를 극복할 수 있는 대안을 생태적 세계관과 교육관에 기초하여 모색해보고자 하였다. 이러한 취지에 입각하여 본고의 내용은 생태적 세계관에 입각하여 현대교육의 한계점을 극복할 수 있는 방안의 제시 및 시의적절한 교육실천을 구성할 수 있는 철학적 토대를 마련하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 본다.

The purpose of the study was to review the limit of modern education critically on the basis of Western modernism and to examine what an ecological view of education to overcome the limit was. To be so, first, the study examined how the basic suppositions of modernism were reflected in modern education in the side of a mechanical view of nature and an individualistic view of world and also examined their limit critically. Second, on the basis of ecologism, the study examined an ecological view of education to overcome problems of modern education .On the basis of the first research purpose, the study analyzed the binary opposition of Descartes, forming a scientific-objective view of knowledge, and the philosophical thought of reductionism, and examined the limit of modern education by anthropocentrism focused on humans’ ‘reason’ which was the core of enlightenment. On the basis of the second research purpose, the study pointed out the limit of modern education inherent in the basic suppositions of modernism mentioned above and suggested an ecological view of education through an overall approach as an alternative to overcome the limit. The analysis results of the study will suggest a plan to overcome the limit of modern education on the basis of an ecological view of world and make a philosophical foundation to form well-timed practices of education.
