Group Think in Open Collaboration (Collective Intelligence) Environment

Groupthink phenomenon has been studied in a number of authors over the past 40 years and now this topic is still getting a lot of attention. Groupthink occurs for a group of closely linked together in a provocative situational context. The majority of authors have studied this phenomenon for the offline groups, but today with the development of science and technology, the people often study and work via the Internet with online communities. Therefore, this study tries to explore and examine the phenomenon of Groupthink may impact how the quality of decision making for online communities. Survey data from subjects participating in online communities were used to test the proposed hypotheses and models. Therefore, this study has identified the factors affecting the quality of the decision in Open Collaboration (Collective Intelligence) Environment.
