최명희의 『혼불』에 나타난 담론의 균열과 주체의 대응

Crack of Discourse and the Problem of the Subject in the 『Hon-Bul』of Choe Myung-hee

『혼불』은 형식면에서 일반적인 인식을 깨고, 내용면에서도 일상성을 파괴한 균열의 문제에 주목함으로써 균열의 서사를 만들어낸다. 『혼불』에서는 응집력이 약화된 사회에서 담론의 균열이 발생하고, 그 균열들이 확장되면서 사회의 변화를 일으키고 있는 모습이 목격된다. 또한 『혼불』은 이런 체제를 위협하는 균열의 움직임이 지난 역사 속에서도 끊임없이 있어왔고, 그 균열은 또 끊임없이 봉합당해 왔다는 것을 관련 삽화들을 통해서 보여준다. 『혼불』에서는 불안한 사회상을 반영하며 곳곳에서 균열이 감지된다. 아래에서는 기층민중들이 전복적 욕망을 드러내며 기존 질서의 의미와 가치를 전복해가고자 할 때, 위에서도 새로운 사상의 조류를 받아들이며 적극적으로 변모해가는 젊은이들이 양반사회 내부에 균열을 일으킨다. 이들이 만든 미세한 변화의 움직임들은 전통 사회에 큰 파장을 불러일으킨다. 기득권의 수호자들은 합법적 폭력을 행사하며 균열을 봉합하려 하고, 자신들의 권위를 실추시키지 않기 위해 내부 단속을 하는 데 힘을 쓴다. 반대로 전복을 꿈꾸는 자들은 균열의 틈을 타 자신의 욕망을 구체화하고 실현시키며 적극적으로 기존 질서에 저항한다. 이렇게 『혼불』은 기존 공동체적 삶을 규율할 수 있는 법칙이 상실되어 가는 시기의 분열상을 서사 공간에서 재현하며, 사회체제에서 발생하는 균열과 위반 그리고 봉합의 문제를 얘기한다.

『Hon-Bul』 breaks the public conception in form and makes a narrative of cracks by noticing a problem of cracks which destroy daily life in substance. 『Hon-Bul』 was spotted that the crack of discourse broke in weakened society and the cracks extended, and then it made the changes of the society. Also, 『Hon-Bul』 shows that there have been the movement of cracks which threatened the continued existence of the prevailing form in the past history and the cracks have been sutured consistently with illustration involved. The cracks were detected in 『Hon-Bul』 from every corner, reflecting of unrest image of society. 『Hon-Bul』 shows that the lower classes had begun to reveal its own subversive desires at the bottom and also shows that the lower classes tried to overturned the meaning of the existing order and the value of the existing order. Then the upper class's young people which have been approved of new ideas and have been transformed positively break the cracks in yangban society at the top. These fine movement of change which the upper class's young people had made greatly impacted in traditional society. The vested tried to suture the society's cracks with legal violence and tried to control the inside not to lose their authority. The other way, the man who has been dreaming of overturning embodied their desire and realized their desire opposed the existing order actively, taking advantage of the cracks. In this way, 『Hon-Bul』 makes a reproduction of dissolution of society in narration space and shows the problem of crack, suture, violation in society.
