글로벌새마을정신 실천에 관한 인식 연구

A Recognition Study on Global Saemaul Spirit Practice;Focusing on Analysis of Preschool Teacher’s Recognition

본 연구는 교육현장에서의 글로벌새마을정신 실천에 대한 유아교사들의 인식을 알아보기 위해 진행되었다. 유아교사 254명을 대상으로 새마을운동에 대한 기본적 인 이해를 알아보고, 유아기 교육에 있어서 글로벌새마을정신으로 거론되는 근면, 자조, 협동, 배려, 나눔, 봉사, 창조, 변화, 도전과 같은 요소의 중요성에 대한 유아교사 의 인식을 조사하였다. 연구결과, 응답자의 68%는 새마을운동에 대해서 알고 있었 으며, 새마을운동이 우리나라의 성장과 발전에 긍정적인 기여를 한 것으로 인식하였다. 응답자의 82.3%가 글로벌새마을운동에 대해서 잘 모르지만 세계화 시대를 살아 가는 오늘날 사회에서 새마을정신의 계승 및 발전은 필요하다고 하였다. 특히 유아기 교육에 있어서 중요한 정신은 협동과 배려라고 생각하였고, 응답자의 74.5%는 교육 현장에서 이와 같은 글로벌새마을정신의 실천과 교육이 필요하며, 그 이유는 올바른 인성 함양, 기본생활습관 형성, 공동체 생활 덕목 함양으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study is to research preschool teachers’ understanding of the Saemaul Undong, recognition of Saemaul spirit practice in the field of early childhood education and provide basic data to practice Saemaul spirit education suitable for infancy. For this purpose, questionnaires were distributed to 254 preschool teachers in several cities of South Korea to find out the levels of understanding Saemaul Undong and how much they feel the necessity of education relating to practice Saemaul spirit in the early childhood education. According to the results of the questionnaire, it revealed that first, 68% of the respondents know the past Saemaul Undong and recognize it as a movement positively contributed to national growth. Second, 82.3% of the respondents do not know the recent Saemaul Undong (i.e., Second Saemaul Undong). However, they consented that it is necessary to uphold and develop Saemaul spirits. In addition, in order for spirits or values to be inherited through the second Saemaul Undong, cooperation, sharing and caring are ranked in order of important values. In particular, cooperation and caring are ranked as the most important Saemaul spirits in the early childhood education.Third, it was revealed that 74.5% of the responding preschool teachers think practicing and educating Saemaul pirits are necessary in the early childhood education fields, because it can be helpful for children to have good human nature, lifestyle habit, and learn how to contribute to a community life.
