The Effects of Human Resource Management on Employees' Job Satisfaction: A Perspective of Foreign Workers in Korea

This study determined the impact of eight (8) selected human resource practices onforeign workers' job satisfaction. The research subjects included foreign workers employed inDaewoo Electronics, Gwangju. In this study, data were collected using a structuredquestionnaire with 31 items. The data from the survey questionnaire were analyzed usingANOVA and Regression Analysis. The results of this study revealed that the human resourcepractices explained 28% of foreign workers' job satisfaction in Daewoo Electronics. Thestatistically significant influence of compensation and employee benefits on foreign workers'job satisfaction suggested that extrinsic rewards are the significant predictors of jobsatisfaction. Optimizing the human resource practices along with diversity and compensationmanagement can further boost the satisfaction of foreign workers.
