The Nexus between Entrepreneurial Orientation, Technological Innovation Capability, Innovation Performance and Export Performance of Venture Firms in Daedeok Innopolis, Daejeon, South Korea

This study examines the relationships among entrepreneurial orientation, technological innovation capability, innovation performance and export performance using survey data from 103 venture firms in Daedeok Innopolis, Daejeon, South Korea. We use Partial Least Squares analysis to test the direct and indirect effects of the entrepreneurial orientation on export performance of the firms. Technological innovation capability and innovation performance are used as the mediating variables for explaining the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and export performance. The results indicate that a firm's entrepreneurial orientation has a positive effect on its technological innovation capability and innovation performance. The study also finds evidence that a firm's technological innovation capability involves enhancing its innovation performance and that a firm's innovation performance positively affects its export performance. In addition, the study findsthat a firm's innovation performance mediates the relationship between its entrepreneurial orientation and export performance.
