The Logistics Industry and Its Revitalization Plan in TianJin, China

TianJin port is the biggest intemational trade port in North-east China. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the present logistics industry of the regions around TianJin, China and to present some development plans for revitalizing the logistics industry in TianJin. Based on the analysis of the logistics industry in China, this paper presented some problems and some useful policies for the development of the logistics industry in TianJin. Some problems-which surfaced such as small logistics firms competing, shortage in logistics professionals, lower logistics service quality, fierce competition in the line of logistics among global logistics firms, environmental pollution and lack of a development plan for port hinterland logistics in TianJin were derived. Therefore, a master development plan for training logistic professionals, establishing information system and environment-friendly logistics environment, integrating public logistic information platform, expanding infrastructure of port facility in TianJin need to be developed. TianJin Binhai New District has incorporated in the central Committee the outline of its Eleventh Five-Year Plan for national economic and social developmental proposals.
