This study aims to examine factors affecting the decision of export manufacturing firms of small and medium enterprises(SMEs) relative to choosing third party logistics providers in accordance with the external logistics environment. In addition, this study aims to examine whether these decision making factors affect trust and commitment which form the relationship between the two parties Results revealed that the factors such as globalization, customer, product, and information system were the factors existing in the logistics environment. Secondly, it was found that the globalization factors in the logistics environment did not affect both transactional and reputational factors; whereas only the customer factors influenced the transactional factors. Lastly, transactional and reputational factors were found to influence trust but not commitment.
