Organizational capabilities are primary drivers of a firm's international performance and thus central to scholars and managers in the field of global strategy. Yet the way in which those capabilities align with changing environments to secure superior internationalization performance remains unclear, though there are numerous studies focusing on the issue. Drawing on the organizational capabilities view of a firm based on organizational learning theory, dynamic capabilities theory, and data from a field survey of 129 small and medium sized firms in technology-intensive industries in Korea, this study proposes a model of how organizational capabilities, comprized of coordination capabilities, learning capabilities, and reconfiguration capabilities, relates to firm internationalization performance, as well as how domestic environmental dynamism and domestic environmental munificence might affect these relationships. The results show that the high level of coordination, learning, and reconfiguration capabilities have stronger positive effects on firm internationalization performance in environments characterized by high dynamism and munificence in the context of domestic market. This study supports that domestic environmental characteristics plays a moderating role in the relationship between firm's internal capabilities and internationalization performance.Based on the results, strategic implications and future research directions for organization capabilities and internationalization field were suggested.
