Domestic Relief Group Uniform Design Tendency

The relief activities are not only limited to the government and expert's role, but private group activities are very active nowadays. The purpose of this study was to supply the data for the relief uniform design by figuring out the present conditions of relief groups and reviewing designs of domestic relief uniforms. This study was performed by finding the relief activity pictures on the web sites and choosing the research data in the course of searching the major disasters and accidents since 2000s. Total 64 pictures from 35 relief groups were extracted as final data. Design analysis were classified under item, form, color, color matching, materials, detail, logo and symbol. The vests, most available items, were designed to be outstanding in color plans, symbols and logos in lots of cases, however there were few safety equipments like reflecting strips. T-shirts designs were various as uniforms and gave the message to the people, but which were mostly used as assistant items with the vests. Jumpers were designed with small symbols and logos, which were mostly planned for daily use rather than group indicative function. It is necessary to find the way to show the group identities in the relief group uniform, and also transformable design that can be used in various conditions will be effective.
