이 글은 대학의 글쓰기 교과 가운데 '과학ㆍ기술', '자연과학', '공학' 분야와 관련된 글쓰기 교과목의 교육과정 개발을 목표로 한다. 대학의 교과목 설정이나 교육과정 개발에는 다양한 요인이 작용한다. 이 연구에서는 연구자가 담당했던 '학술적 글쓰기' 교과를 기본으로 '과학ㆍ기술 분야 글쓰기' 교과의 목표 설정과 내용 선정 시안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이 글에서 논의한 내용을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교과 설정 또는 교육과정 개발을 위해서는 학습자의 실태 조사가 필요하다. 이를 위해 이 연구에서는 〇〇대학교 화학공학과 학생 47명을대상으로 4개 항목의 설문 조사를 시행하였으며, 이를 구체화하기 위한 5개 항목의 보완 설문을 하였다. 그 결과 대학생들은 대부분 글쓰기에 어려움을 경험하고 있으며, 과학ㆍ기술 분야의 글쓰기 교육이 필요하다고 느끼고 있었다. 그럼에도 학습자들은 이 분야의 글쓰기가 어떤 특징을 갖고 있으며, 어떤 것이 필요한지에 대해서는 뚜렷한 의식이 정립되어 있지 않다. 둘째, 학습자 진단을 통하여 과학ㆍ기술 글쓰기 교과를 개발하고자 할 때에는 교과 설정 목표를 분명히 해야 한다. 전공 연구 결과를 구체적으로 표현하고자 하는 것인지 아니면 교양인으로서 의사소통 능력과 사고력 신장을 목표로 하는 것인지에 따라 교과의 목표는 달라질 수 있다. 이 연구는 후자를 목표로 교과 목표를 설정하였으며, 이에 따른 수업 계획서를 제시하여 내용 선정과 학습 활동 방안을 제시하고자 하였다.
This papers aims to provide the contents with various teachers who take charge of the subject of scientific and technical (engineering) writing. I am interested in the curriculums of college writing. I taught some different writing programs that were scientific or creative writing. Many students have a prejudice of natural science, technology and engineering. I surveyed 47 freshmen find out when they think about writing torment, what they need for writing program, when they realize own's major field and what is differ scientific technical writing and other writing. The results of survey inferred many natural scientists have various prejudice of writing. I think that the curriculum of natural scientific technical (engi neering) writing need for some factors. I am interest in the goals of this subject for general education. If this subject goal for special area of natural science, we will prepare special curriculum. But I suggested that suitable goals and contents for the program of general education. This suggestions are draft proposal based on my experience. But I hope this program help to the other teachers and students.
