플라톤의 재물관 연구

The Studies of Plato's Opinions about the Wealth in terms of 'Blind Wealth' and 'Keen of Sight Wealth'

예나 지금이나 재화에 대한 관심이 지대하다. 플라톤 역시 재물 혹 돈에 대한 언급을 많이 하였다. 이 연구의 목적은 플라톤의 재물관이 어떠한지 살펴보려는 것이다. 특히 이를 위해 논자는 눈먼 부(blind wealth)와 날카롭게 보 는 부(keen of sight wealth)라는 플라톤의 부에 대한 표현에 주목하였다. 이 개념 을 중심으로 플라톤의 재물관을 살펴본다면, 그의 재물관이 아주 잘 드러나게 된다. 플라톤은 재물 자체에 대해서는 긍정하지만, 과도한 재물 즉 부에 대해서는 부정적인 견해를 가지고 있다. 왜냐하면 부는 사람의 분별하는 눈을 멀게 하여 개인의 인격과 타인을 바라보지 못하게 하기 때문이다. 이를 해결하기 위해서 날카롭게 부를 바라보아야 한다. 즉 덕(arete)을 얻기 위해서 재물을 사용하는 것이 바로 날카롭게 바라보는 부이다. 또한 타인을 바라보지 않았던 눈에서 타인을 바라보고 타인과 재물을 공유하는 것이 바로 날카롭게 바라보는 부이다. 날카롭게 들여다보는 부를 소유하기 위해서는 강제적인 법률과 교육이 필요하다.

In all ages, we have in the money for extremely interested. Plato also commenting on the money or wealth a lot. The purpose of this study is to understand what is that Plato's opinions about the wealth. Especially, for taking this purpose, I choose expressions; Blind wealth and Keen of sight wealth. If you look at Plato's opinions about the wealth in terms of these. You can know very well Plato's thought about the wealth. Plato, but about possession itself, has a negative opinion about the excessive wealth. Because wealth makes people's eyes blind, they shall not see the individual personality but also the other people. In order to resolve this problems, we should face wealth sharply. In other words, 'the keen of sight wealth' use own wealth for taking virtures. Besides, 'the keen of sight wealth' makes people see the others, share themselves wealth each other. For the keen of sight wealth we have to look pointedly at the obligatory legal and educational needs.
