Projects and Agendas for Inter-Economic Regional Cooperation between the Capital Region and Other Economic Region

The purpose of this paper is to explore projects and agendas for regional cooperation between the Capital Region and Other Economic Region. So, this paper analyzes the plan making work and its results in the Development Plan of the Capital Economic Region, which is researched by the Seoul Development Institute, Incheon Development Institute and Gyeonggi Research Institute during 2009~2010. The inter-economic regional cooperation, especiaUy between the Capital Region and Other Economic Region, needs for decreasing conflicts of regional disparity problem and of distribution issue on the regional development subsidy in the central government budget. In the Plan, there are three inter-regional cooperation projects. Those are the joint development of industrial park, the cluster of tourist resort, and the construction of the DMZ Peace Road. Of course, the Presidential Committee on Regional Development and the Ministry of Knowledge Economy set up the 2010 year projects of the inter-economic regional cooperation in early this year. But, from now every Economic Region Development Committee should do effort for planning and dialogue of inter-regional cooperation projects among economic region.
