본 연구는 위기에 몰린 학교 교육을 개선하기 위한 하나의 안으로써 교사의 역할과 역량을 제시하고자 하였다. 기존 문헌 고찰을 통하여 연구모형을 구축하였고, 설문조사 후 실증분석을 실시하였다. 설문조사는 서울시에 소재하고 있는 초등학교의 교사 35명과 학생 482명을 대 상으로 실시하였고 회귀분석 등을 통하여 가설을 입증하였다. 연구의 결과는 우선적으로 교사 효능감과 리더십 효능감은 변혁적 리더십의 선행변수로써 유효한 역할을 하고 있었으며 변혁적 리더십은 학생들의 학습태도에 정 (+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 교사 효능감 및 리더십 효능감과 학습 태도의 관계에서 변혁적 리더십이 매개하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 변혁적 리더십의 매개 효과 등의 이론적 시사점과 교사의 변혁적 리더로써의 역할의 중요성 및 리더십 교육의 필요성 등 본 연구의 실무적 기여에 대하여 논하였다. 끝으로 표본, 측정도구, 분석 수준 등의 한계에 대하여 기술하였고, 향후 연구 방향에 대하여 제시하였다.
The purpose of the present study was to empirically test if the teachers' transformational leadership mediates the relations between their teaching efficacy and the students' learning and other performances. After reviewing the existing literature, a model has been developed along with hypotheses to be tested. A sruvey was conducted with 35 teachers and 482 students from elementary schools around the Seoul area. The results of the study showed that teachers' efficacies in teaching and leading students had strong relations with transformational leadership. In addition, teachers' transformational leadership showed positive and significant correlations with students' learning attitudes. The mediating effects of transformational leadership between efficacy and performance were also identified. Implications and limitations of the study has been discussed along with future directions of research in the related areas.
