본 논문은 조선을 위기에서 구한 위대한 영웅, 이순신 장군의 의사결정 방식을 리더십 이론의 관점에서 고찰하여 본 것이다. 그간 선행연구는 역사적 관점에서 성공신화중심으로 이루어지고 있고, ‘인물바로보기’ 중심의 전기로 치우쳐있어 이순신 장군을 탁월한 리더로서 이해하는 데에는 아쉬움이 있었다. 따라서 본고에서는 이순신 장군이 리더로서 합리적이고 전략적인 의사결정을 내리는 방식을 Vroom/ Yetton의 의사결정 방식에 입각하여 살펴봄으로써, 이순신 장군의 탁월한 리더십을 리더십 이론의 관점에서 면밀히 살펴보고자 한다. 끝으로 이순신 장군의 의사결정의 성공사례를 분석하여 리더로서 합리적이고 전략적인 의사결정을 위한 방향성을 제시하고자 한다.

In this paper, The decision-making ways of Admiral Yi Sun-shin shed new light from the leadership theory. The previous studies have historically been made in terms of focusing on success stories and biography so It is inconvenienced the Admiral Yi Sun-shin as a outstanding leader examined closely . So this paper, The decision-making ways of Admiral Yi Sun-shin try to consider in viewpoints of Vroom/Yetton model, the leadership of Admiral Yi Sun-shin understand as in viewpoints of leadership theory. Finally, the decision-making ways by Admiral Yi Sun-shin are organized into three kinds ; the goal based decision-making, the situation based decision-making, the participation based decision-making. It will suggest direction for decision-making of the leader.
