감정지능과 리더십 : 연구동향 및 향후 과제- 국내 연구를 중심으로 -

Emotional Intelligence & Leadership:Research Trends & future research directions-Focusing on domestic research-

세계적으로 약 30년 전부터 감정지능과 리더십의 관계에 관한 연구가 이루어져와 현재는 양적으로나 질적으로 적지 않은 연구결과가 쌓여 있다. 국내에서는 과거 10여 년 동안 22 편의 감정지능과 리더십 관련 연구가 있었다. 본 연구에서는, 감정지능과 리더십에 대한 해외에서의 연구동향을 소개하고 국내 논문들을 중심으로 연구현황, 연구유형, 그리고 연구형태 등의 분석을 수행하였다. 분석결과, 국내 논문의 연구유형은 감정지능과 성과와의 관계를 입증하는 것이 14편(64%)으로 연구방향이 편중되어 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 리더십 유형과 리 더십 효과와의 관계를 매개하는 연구가 4편, 감정표현 관련 연구가 2편, 감정규제관련 연구가 1편으로 분포되어 있었지만 리더의 감정과 추종자의 감정에 대한 연구는 찾아볼 수 없었으며 기타 감정과 리더십의 관계에 있어서는 논의대상 이외의 연구에서 몇편을 찾아 그 사례를 제시하였다. 연구방법에 있어서는 실증연구가 20편이고 개념연구는 2편이었으며 실증연구 논문 중 동 일방법편의오류가 추정되는 논문은 19편에 이르렀다. 또한 22편의 논문이 17종의 서로 다른 학회지에 등재된 것을 확인하여 전문성 및 후속연구로의 연계성 결여를 지적하였다. 마지막으로 국내연구논문의 한계점과 그에 따른 향후 연구방향을 제시하였다.

The relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership has been the subject of numerous quantitative and qualitative studies internationally in the last 30 years. In the last decade, domestic studies have produced 22 papers on this topic. This study presents foreign research trends on the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership, and focuses its analysis on research history, type, and form of domestic papers. Analysis shows that domestic papers inclined (14 papers; 64%) on research on the relationship between emotional intelligence and performance. Other papers dealt with subjects ranging from the relationship between leadership type and leadership effectiveness (4 papers), emotional e-pression (2 papers), and emotional regulation (1 paper). Yet, none conducted research on the relationship between leader emotions and follower emotions. Thus, this research cited cases of the relationship between various emotions and leadership on papers in nonrelated fields. For research methods, empirical studies were done in 20 papers, 19 of which consisted of a possible common method bias in their research; conceptual studies were done in 2 papers. In addition, this research points out the lack of continuity in these studies through follow-up studies, as these 22 papers have been published in 17 different academic journals. Finally, this research addresses the limitations of domestic research papers and presents future research directions on this subject.
