A Theological Study of the Historial Jesus in Q

Q는 네 번에 걸쳐 편집된 것으로 여겨진다. 이는 공책을 덧붙이듯이 중보를 통해 발전되었다. 필자의 판단으로 첫 번째 편집단계는 세례 요한과 예수의 말씀과 사역에 대해서 서술하는 점에서 역사적 자료라고 보여준다. 두 번째 편집단계는 오직 예수에게만 집중하는데, 이때 그는 상징성을 가지게 된다. 그런데 세 번째와 네 번째 편집단계에 이르러서는 예수에 대해 신학화 작업을 한 것 같다. 전자는 예수를 초월적인 '사람의 아들'로 서술했으면 후자는 예수를 새 이스라엘의 지도자로 서술하였다. 이러한 점에서 세 번째와 네 번째 편집단계에 서술된 예수는 역사적이기보다는 신학적인 모습을 띄게 되었다. 그러므로 역사적 예수에 접근하기 위해서는 Q의 첫 번째와 두 번째 편집단계의 자료들을 바탕으로 하여야 할 것이다.

Q is supposed to be composed of four redactional layers. To my judgment, the first layer lists what the historical Jesus and John the Baptist said and did. And then, the second layer focuses on what Jesus is supposed to have said and done. However, the later two layers reveal what the redactors tried to theologically describe Jesus. In other words, the third and the fourth redactors put their theology on Jesus. In this way, they laid the groundwork for making Jesus their religious leader and an object of worship in the 40s C.E.
