레오 리오니의 그림책을 활용한 유아인성교육 프로그램의 구성 및 적용 효과

The Development and Practical Application of a Character Education Program Using Leo Lionni Picture Books for Young Children

본 연구의 목적은 레오 리오니의 그림책을 활용하여 유아인성교육 프로그램을 구성하고 이를 유아교육현장에 적용한 후 유아의 사회적 유능감 향상에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위하여 본 연구에서는 먼저 유아인성교육, 유아기 사회적 능력, 유아문학, 레오 리오니의 그림책 등과 관련된 다양한 선행연구 및 문헌을 검토하고 이를 고려하여 레오 리오니 그림책을 활용한 유아인성교육 프로그램의 목표를 설정하였다. 그리고 레오 리오니의 그림책에 표현된 유아인성교육과 관련된 주제 및 내용을 검토한 후 설정된 목표를 이루기에 적절한 그림책을 선정하여 유아인성교육 프로그램의 내용을 선정하였고, 유아기 학습자를 대상으로 하는 그림책을 활용한 효과적인 교수학습방법에 관한 선행연구의 제안을 고려하여 프로그램의 교수학습방법을 구성하였다. 다음으로 본 연구에서 구성한 레오 리오니 그림책을 활용한 유아인성교육 프로그램을 유아교육현장에 적용한 후 유아의 사회적 유능감 향상에 미치는 영향을 검증하였다. 그 결과 레오 리오니 그림책을 활용한 유아인성교육 프로그램은 유아의 사회적 유능감 전체와 정서조절, 정서성, 또래관계기술, 그리고 사회적 지식 이해 등의 모든 하위요인과 관련된 사회적 유능감을 향상시키는 데 효과가 있음이 밝혀졌다. 본 연구의 결과는 인성교육의 중요성에 관한 사회적 관심의 고조에 부응하여 개발한 레오 리오니의 그림책을 활용하는 유아인성교육 프로그램이 유아기에 반드시 이루어야 할 필요가 있는 유아의 사회적 유능감 향상에 효과가 있음을 의미한다.

A character education program for young children was developed, applied in a practical early childhood education setting, and evaluated. The program was designed using Leo Lionni's picture books with the themes of young children's good character to improve young children's social competence. The purpose of the program established on the basis of various theories and researches in the field of early childhood character education, social competence, literature education, and picture book writer Leo Lionnei and his picture books. The contents of this program were developed by analyzing and categorizing Leo Lionni's picture books with the themes of children's character and social competence. The teaching-learning method of the program designed according to effective teaching-learning methods using picture books for young children. And the program was evaluated according to the purpose of this program through survey. Through evaluation it is verified that the character education program developed in this study using Leo Lionni's picture books for young children was effective in enhancing young children's social competence.
