The purpose of this study is to explore the Turkey's middle power strategy through multilateralism often witnessed in Turkish foreign policy during the post-Cold War period. Turkey has been trying to acquire global leadership in order to take an initiating role in global issues like global peace and poverty reduction. However, Turkey is not a power state, so she began to seek for middle power strategy through multilateralism to achieve global leadership which is quite different from that of super powers / power states' strategy. The status of middle power is likely to create for Turkey more favorable conditions to be a mediator between power states and weak states, or set various agendas and institutionalize them through multilateral organizations. Indeed, it is often said that multilateralism is an effective mechanism for the middle power states to secure leadership through niche diplomacy for becoming an active mediator and player. Therefore, it is quite natural for Turkey to have paid attention to multilateralism for the middle power strategy and could be evaluated "considerably successful", although she has shown some limitations.
