Griffith John was a Welsh Christian Congregationalist missionary to China and a pioneer evangelist with the London Missionary Society. He became well known for his talent and passion of sermon. This brought him the title of Street Preacher. He was also a writer and a translator of the Bible and religious novels into Chinese. As an inveterate preacher, his Chinese works have its unique style. This paper studies his Chinese religious novels and its literary and social influence.
