Published in 2003, We Three by Yang Jiang is a novel that fictionally organizes a process of a lady sending her daughter and husband away one after the other and also a prose work of recalling her memories with the family. The investigator looked into the backgrounds of its creation and its narrative strategies of death and memory. Yang Jiang went through a process of introspection and perception of death while translating Phaidon by Plato, a Greek philosopher. After the job, she wrote We Three by combining fiction and memory based on her personal experiences and perceptions. In the work, she showed a narrative strategy to touch the readers through fantasy time and space, reorganization of memoir, and visualization of condensed emotions.
