In Jiaqing 16 year (1811), Dongguange Press published the commentated edition of the Red Chamber Dream, which is the earliest commentated edition after the Cheng A edition. The marks of the commentated edition of Dongguange followed general conventions appeared in the Ming and Qing dynasties, but there were its own special features. The marks closely combine with the commentaries in the form of putting the commenting remarks beside the relevant text, so as to enable them to make reference to each other.
