강원랜드 카지노 입지의 삶의 질 향상효과에 대한 인식

Recognition of the Quality Improvement of Life Brought by the Location of Kangwon Land Casino

본 연구는 강원랜드의 카지노 입지가 폐광지역 주민의 삶의 질 향상에 어떤 영향을 미치고 있는지를 파악하고자 한다. 지역주민들의 인식을 평가하기 위해 15개 지표를 사용하여 직접 분석을 실시하였다. 설문조사는 태백시, 삼척시, 영월군, 정선군 4개 지역을 대상으로 실시되었다. 각 지역별 인구비율을 산출한 다음 지역별로 인구분포를 고려하여 설문을 통해 조사했다. 거주기간별로, 과거 광업에 종사한 경험의 유⋅무별로(이 있는지 없는지), 강원랜드 취업 여부별로, 카지노 입지혜택 여부별로, 카지노 출입 여부별로 구분하여 살펴보았다. 분석 결과 카지노입지가 지역주민들의 삶의 질 향상에 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 폐광지역 주민들은 진흥정책에 대해 관심 있게 지켜보았으나 그 효과는 기대에 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 현재 추진하고 있는 2단계 사업이나 대체산업의 다각화 등 진흥정책에 대한 신중한 검토를 바라는 것으로 판단되었다.

1. CONTENTS (1) RESEARCH OBJECTIVES This study is to investigate whether the presence of Kangwon Land casino having a certain impact on the quality of life of local residents at closed mine area. (2) RESEARCH METHOD To do so, direct analysis was done using the 15 indices for evaluating the local population's recognition. The survey was conducted among four areas(Taebaek, Samcheok, Yeongwol, Jeongseon). It considered the population distribution of the region which was examined through a questionnaire, with the calculated the percentage of the population of each region. (3) RESEARCH FINDINGS The questionnaire was categorized by residential period, past experience of engaging in mining industry, employment status at Kangwon Land, location benefit by the casino, and accessing the casino. The result of analysis is that the presence of the casino at certain area, does affects the quality of life of local residents in the area. 2. RESULTS Local residents at closed mine area watched with interest in the promotion policy, but the effect was found to fall short of expectations. It was determined that the desire for careful review of the promotion policies such as the second phase of the project which is in the process or diversifying the alternative industries.
