An Analysis of F/W Makeup Colors and Images Trend for Wedding in China and Korea -Based on the Wedding Magazines during 2011∼2013-

This study comparatively analyzed FW wedding makeup against 35cover models which appeared on a wedding magazine from 2011 to 2013 to figure out color trends in wedding makeup and images between China and South Korea. The result found the followings: First. makeup color does not significantly change in South Korea and China. In terms of tone changes by season. autumu was greater than winter. In lip makeup. in particular. a bright tome was preferred in China while a smooth and soft tone was frequently used in South Korea. In addition. more diverse tones were used in China. As the time approached 2013, the makeup trend between the two countries became pretty same due to the influence of Hallyu('the Korean Wave'). Second, in terms of makeup image in 2011, romantic image was popular in fall in china and during winter in Korea. In addition, a big difference was found in both countries in fall. While diverse images such as modern, romantic and classic images were used in China, natural and elegant images were popular in South Korea. In 2012, on the contraty, elegant and modern images were the mainstream in both countries. In addition, natural images were more popular in Korea and in China. In 2013, elegant, natural and romantic images were evenly found in China while an elegant image was in fashion in South Korea during autumn. In winter, a natural image became popular again. In terms of wedding makeup color and images, therefore, a difference between South Korea and China was confirmed. It appears that the study results would be useful in a further study on wedding makeup trends.
