Study of the Mood of Tea Life among Literati in the Early Joseon Dynasty - Focused on the Tea Poetry -

The purpose of this study was to understand the mood of tea life focused on the tea poetry of literati in the early of Joseon dynasty. This study analyzed to 321 tea poetry of forty literati in the early Joseon dynasty. This study first considered the social and cultural background, and the characteristics of tea life in the early Joseon dynasty, then subdivided the key elements of tea poetry to investigate the significance of those poetry. The results of the current study showed that the mood of tea life provides emotional healing, artistic impression and communion with nature. Tea life led literati in the early Joseon dynasty to train their human nature and maintain an elegant and austere life.
