Recently, banks are going through the reduction or relocation to strengthen its competitiveness. However, since face to face business activities are the most important role in bank, reduction can not be determined easily. So, this research aims to guide basic data about closing and opening strategy of the bank by analysing how much the Locational Characteristic and Store Characteristic of bank affects sales. In this research, we used multiple regression analysis and the objects are 138 banks in Bundang and Pangyo new city. The dependent variable, sales, is based on the 2012 data and independent variable is categorized into population, store, economy, land, location and access characteristics. As a result, first, bank branch needs at least 3 years of settlement period after opening. Second, the sales decreases when the distance from the subway station is too close or the subway user is too much. Third,when the distance from the large shopping center or community service is close, the bank sales tend to increase. Forth, population does not seem to affect the increase of sales. This result can be used for the opening and closing of bank branches for basic data.
