The Policy Implications of Ocean Standardization System in China

China is a state that has separate system of ocean standardization in the world. They recognize that ocean standardization is an efficient way to proliferation of the ocean related sectors, and have designed a system aligned with the national ocean development plan. Recently, the Chinese government is even further improving the system by revising strategies, reorganizing the related agency, and restructuring the standardization system. This may provide an important implication to Korean government as Korean efforts and investment on ocean standardization work has not been running smoothly. The current study examines Chinese ocean standardization, provides a set of guidelines on the development of Korean ocean standardization system and suggests the future direction.
