Consideration of Hwanho Settlements in the Patternless Earthenware Culture of the Former Term Age in Middle Part of Area. - Examination of the characteristics about the settlements in Daeyul-ri, Cheongwon -

환호는 취락의 주변을 감싸는 도량형태의 시설물로서 외부세계와의 경계, 실재적 또는 잠재적 위협요인으로부터의 방어 등을 위해 설치된다. 한반도에서 환호는 남부지역에서의 고고학적 조사를 통해 다수 확인되고 있으며, 무문토기문화 중기 단계에 해당되는 것이 주를 이루고 있다. 이글은 중부지역에서 최초로 확인된 무문토기문화 전기 단계의 환호취락인 청원 대율리유적의 검토를 통해 단편적으로나마 동시기 환호취락의 일면을 살펴보고자하는 의도에서 작성되었다. 대율리유적에서 조사된 무문토기 주거지와 출토유물은 기왕의 무문토기문화 유형론에 의거하면 무문토기문화 전기 단계의 흔암리유형 또는 가락동유형에 해당될 것으로 판단되는데, 특히 주거지의 양상을 통해 볼 때 지역적으로 제일성을 띠는 가락동유형과 차이가 나타남을 알 수 있다. 대율리 무문토기 취락에서는 방어 또는 경계의 의미로 추정되는 취락 외곽의 다중환호와 함께 구릉 정상부의 주거군을 감싸는 소규모의 환호가 조사되었다. 이를 통해 선분 또는 사용목적에 따른 취락내 가옥의 공간적 분리현상이 나타나고 있음을 추정해 볼 수 있다. 그리고 취락내 주거지의 검토를 통해 개별 주거 2기가 모인 가옥군이 하나의 가족공동체를 이루었을 것으로 추정되며 내호 안쪽 주거지는 규모·입지·출토 유물상을 통해 취락내 유력한 가족공동체의 가옥으로 판단된다. 끝으로 환호를 경계로 취락 내외부에서 확인되는 일부 공간의 의미에 대해 공공적 성격의 장소 즉 광장 또는 공동작업장으로의 가능성을 검토하였다.

Hwanho is the ditch-shaped facilities wrapping the settlement. And it is established as a boundary to the outside world or established for a defense from the real and potential menacing main cause in Korean Peninsula. Hwanho is confirmed in large numbers through the archaeological examination in southern province and the patternless earthenware of the middle stage of culture is the main part. This report was described to examme the one sided aspect of contemporary Hwanho settlement through the examination of Daeyul-ri remains which is first confirmed in middle part and in the middle stage of the patternless earthenware culture. On the basis of the theory about the type of the patternless earthenware, the settlement of the patternless earthenware and the remains examined in Deyul-ri residential area are juged to belong to the first stage of culture, Heunam-ri type, or Garack-dong type but specially in the aspect of settlement site, it differs from Garack-dong type. Small scale Hwanho wrapping the residential district of the top in the hill was examined with the multiple Hwaho of outer wall in the settlement which means defense or boundary in the settlement of Daeyul-ri. According to the social position or purpose of use in the inside the settlement there can be found that the spacial separation phenomenon of the house exists. Through the examination of residential area within the settlement we can presume that the 2nd individual settlement come together and it became the family community and in a aspect of scale, location, and the remams, residential area of it is judged to be a convincing family community. Finally in the meaning of partial space identified in inner or out side of the settllment it is presumed to be a public workshop, namely open space.
