학교문화에 관한 국내 연구 동향 분석

Analysis of School Culture Research Trends in Korea

본 연구는 국내에서 수행된 학교문화에 관한 연구들을 체계적으로 분석 종합하고 성찰하여 향후 학교문화 연구의 과제를 제안하는데 그 목적을 둔다. 설정된 연구문제는 크게 두 가지이다. 첫째, 연구 영역 및 주제, 연구방법의 차원에서 학교 문화 연구 동향은 어떠한가? 둘째, 연구영역과 주제 차원에서 연구동향의 특징과 한계는 무엇인가? 연구 동향 분석 결과를 연구영역과 연구주제를 바탕으로 제시하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학교 조직문화연구가 41편으로 가장 많았으며, 교직(사)문화 연구가 28편으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 학교 조직문화 연구 영역에서는 문화 측정 및 다른 변인과의 관계를 분석한 연구가 31편으로 가장 많은 비중을 차지하였고, 교직(사) 문화 연구 영역에서는 문화 특성 분석 연구가 26편으로 가장 많이 수행되었다. 향후 학교문화 연구의 과제를 제안하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구대상, 연구 영역, 연구 주제 등의 영역에서 연구 범위의 확대가 필요하다. 둘째, 학교조직문화와 학교문화 개념에 대한 보다 명확한 논의와 연구 접근이 필요하다. 셋째, 교직(사) 문화 연구와 관련하여 직업적 문화뿐만 아니라 개별 교사 집단의 특수성과 독특성을 밝히기 위한 연구 작업이 필요하다. 넷째, 수업문화에 대한 연구 관심의 확대가 필요하고, 교사뿐만 아니라 학생의 관점에서 수업문화를 들여다보는 연구 작업이 필요하다. 다섯째, 한국이라는 문화적 정체성을 가지고 있는 사람들만이 공유하는 학교문화의 특성을 드러낼 수 있는 연구가 필요하다.

The purpose of this study aimed to draw implications for setting direction of school change and researching on school culture by systematically analyzing and reflecting the current studies of school culture in Korea. There were two prominent research question regarding school culture. First, what are the research trends of school(organizational)culture, (occupational) culture of teacher, instructional culture in terms of its topics, areas, and methods of research? Second, what are the characteristics and limits of the research trends in terms of its topics and areas of research? The results of the research trends in its topics and areas were as following. First, the number of studies in the school(organizational) culture was 41 and (occupational) culture of teacher was 28. Second, the correlational analyses of other variables and measuring culture in the (organizational) school culture were 31 and the analyses of cultural attributes in (occupational)culture of teachers were 26. This study proposed that the future study of school culture should be considered as follows. First, researchers need to consider the fact that the range of study of school culture should be extended in terms of participants, areas of study, and research topics. Second, it is also necessary for the researcher to make clearer concepts of school organizational culture and school culture and to discuss new approaches to the study of school culture. Third, researchers need to work on identifying particularity and distinctive features of individual teachers groups and occupational culture in relation to (occupational) culture of teachers. Fourth, it is necessary for the researcher to shift their focus on teachers to on students when they are working on studying instructional culture and at the same time to extend the area of research interest in instructional culture. Finally, fifth, researchers need to address the distinctive characteristics of school culture for those who share with the cultural identity of Korean
