계보학적 교육 연구의 가능성 탐색

Possibilities of genealogical study of education

본고는 계보학의 의미 분석에 기초하여 계보학적 교육 연구의 가능성을 탐색 하고자 한다. 미셸 푸코는 『감시와 처벌』 등에서 근대 학교제도 를 ‘유순한 신체’로서의 근대 주체를 길러 내기 위한 규율 권력의 기구 이며 지배적 언설 체제의 장치로 묘사했다. 이러한 교육의 계보학 적 역사 분석은 교육자들에게는 피하기 어려운 문제 제기가 아닐 수 없다. 그러나 종래 계보학 의의미에 대한 검토가 불 충분했다. 본고는 먼저 푸코의 텍스트들을 중심으로 계보학의 정확한 의미 파악을, 형이상학의 거 부, 유래의 탐구, 해체와 비판, 안티 사이언스라는 네 측면에서 시도 했다. 푸코의 『 감시와 처벌 』과 아리에스의 『앙시엥 레짐기의 아동과 가족생활』은 계보학 적 교육사 연구 의 구체적 사 례이다. 교육사를 포함한 한국사 서술에서는 ‘선형적 생성’ 혹은 ‘기적적기원’ 의 형이상학이 발견 되며, 그에 대하여 행 계보학적 교육사 연구는 해체적 작업을 수 할 수 있다.

This paper attempts to grasp the concrete meanings of Foucault’s genealogy. Based on the result s, it explores the possibilities o f a genealogical research of education. In Discipline and Punish(1975), Michel Foucault described the modern schooling as a ap-paratus of disciplinary power which tries to pro duce “docile bodies”. He also depicted modern system of education as an essential institution of the regime of discours of societies. This kind of bleak image of modern edu cation from the view-point of geneal-ogy puts many educators in para lysis.This paper tried to examine the exact and concrete meanings of genealogy through theanalys is of related texts written by Foucault. As results, the characteristics of ge-nealogy may be presented as (1) the rejection of metaphysics, (2) the investigation of the Entstehung or émergence, instead of the Wunderursprung, (3) dissociation and critique,(4) anti-science s or the uprisings of the subjugated savoirs . The genealogical history of modern education analyzed by Foucault in Discipline and Punish(1975) and L’enf ant et la vie familiale sous l’ancien régime(1973) of Philippe Ariès may be counted as the good genealogy of modern education. Especially Ariès(1973) shows a practical and useful study of modern education from the per-spectiveof genealogy. We find easily the metaphysics of ‘linear geneses’(genèses liné-aires) and the Wunderurspring in the many his toriographies of Korea education . The historical genealogical analysis of education tries to disintegrate such transcendental historiographies of Korean education.
