대구ㆍ경북지역 다크 투어리즘(Dark Tourism)의 선택속성 및 활성화 방안에 관한 연구

Selection Attributes and Development Plan for Dark Tourism in Daegu and Kyungbook Province

아픈 역사나 참사의 현장을 관광지로 만드는 목적은 이러한 어두운 과거의 사건들이 사람들의 기억에서 잊혀 지지 않고 이로 인해 과거의 아픔이 반복되는 것을 방지하기 위함이다. 또한 이러한 일련의 사건들에 대한 관심을 관광이라는 자연스러운 연결 고리를 통해 보다 많은 사람들이 접할 수 있도록 해야 하고 생생한 현장감을 활용해 많은 사람들에게 현실감 있는 현장으로서 교훈을 주는 동시에 지역 경제 활성화에도 도움을 줄 수 있는 관광자원화가 되어야 하지만 실상은 그러하지 못하다. 본 연구의 목적은 다크 투어리즘으로서의 중요도에 관한 요인을 도출하기 위하여 관광지 선택속성의 요소와 관광지 활성화의 요소를 조합하여 요인을 추출하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 대구 ㆍ 경북에서 다크 투어리즘을 지속적으로 개발하고 활성화하기 위해 기존의 다크 투어리즘에 관한 선행 연구들이 보여주지 못했던 다크 투어리즘의 선택속성 평가 시 중요한 요소를 도출하고 도출된 항목의 우선순위를 분석함으로써 대구 ㆍ 경북지역 다크 투어리즘에 효과적인 시사점을 제공하는데 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 결과 다크 투어리즘이라는 관광패턴은 문화성이 우선순위에서 가장 높게 나타났다. 이는 다크 투어리즘을 체험할 때 인지도와 역사성이 중요한 요인이라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 대구ㆍ경북지역 다크 투어리즘 활성화를 위해서 문화성을 강조한 다크 투어리즘을 활용에 초점을 맞추어 관광지로 활용하는 것이 가장 중요하다는 것을 시사한다. 또한 다크 투어리즘의 주변환경과 서비스는 우선순위에서 낮게 나타났는데 이는 대부분의 다크 투어리즘이 실내에서 이루어지기 때문에 서비스 및 주변환경과는 무관하다는 것을 알 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to draw the effective suggestions for Daegu and Kyungbook province through the data analysis of the important attributes to vitalize the dark tourism for these areas and through order of priority of the data which have not been done before for these areas. To draw the considered attributes to evaluate the dark tourism of these areas, the survey was carried out targeting the related experts. To seek advice on the standard criteria for this study, the expert group was composed of and the direct interview was performed mainly. Especially, to focus on gathering advice not only from the limited experts but also various experts related with dark tourism, the survey was carried out targeting as many as respondents and the survey group was composed of five policy related persons, five hands-on background persons from tourism field, and five from academia. According to the result of the study, the cultural attribute of the dark tourism is ranked high in terms of order of priority. Based on this result, perception and historical factors are important attribute when people choose dark tourism destinations. Hence, to vitalize the dark tourism of Daegu and Kyungbook province, it is the most important to focus on the cultural aspects of these areas as the key of dark tourism.
