I got the video files on July 2015 about Japanese fishermen captured by Korean coast guards in charge of the violation of ‘the Peace Line’ (‘the Rhee Line’ called by Japanese government) from RKB Mainichi Broadcasting Corporation located in Fukuoka city Japan. These films are what the RKB made for television broadcast of news and documentary programs before and after the year of 1960. This paper is to turn out where the groups of films are and what information they include relating to ‘the Peace Line’. And it is to establish RKB’s resources as an important materials for further study. On these days most of Korean people are forgetful of the inhumane incidents provoked by Korea 60 years ago in the midst that the diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan are getting worse. In contrast, Japan’s conservative media outlets are criticizing unfavorably dogmatic and violent faces of Korean government in an exceptionally loud voice, and are promoting Korea-hatred atmosphere stressing damages of Japanese fishermen suffered by ‘Peace Line’. In these kinds of situations, I have been interviewing since the last of 2014 how Japanese fishermen are recollecting their past which they had been captured and put into custody under the Rhee Syngman regime. I have been searching for Japanese sufferers based upon the RKB’s resources. I could happen to meet, to make a film and to talk with two fishermen at Itoshima country in the Fukuoka prefecture around the middle of February 2015.
