영화 『Dans la Maison』에 나타난 교육적 관계

The Educational Relationship in François Ozon’s In the House(Dans la maison): Focused on Ancient Greek Paidophilia

교육은 교사와 학생의 긴밀한 유대에서 출발한다. 그리스 사회의 근간을 유지시킨 소년애는 교사와 학생 사이의 관계가 가장 밀접했던 전형적인 사례로 알려져 있다. 그리스 소년애는 오늘날 우리가 알고 있는 육체적 관계가 아니다. 학문과 예술의 전승을 위한 사회문화적 제도였다. 본 연구의 목적은 『향연』을 고찰하면서 프랑수아 오종의 영화 『Dans la Maison』에 드러난 교사와 학생의 교육적 관계의 의의를 살펴보고, 나아가 교사에게서 학생에게로 일방적인 전달이 이루어지는 관계가 아닌 교사-학생의 교육적 상호관계의 가능성을 모색하는 데 있다. 우선 영화에서 제르멩과 끌로드가 보여준 교육적 관계를 고대 그리스의 파이도필리아(Paidophilia,소년애)의 일반적인 시각에서 고찰해 보았다. 다음으로 그리스 소년애의 필리아적 성격에 초점을 두고 제르멩-끌로드의 교육적 상호관계를 관찰하였다

The starting point of education is the close bond between teacher and student. Ancient Greek Paidophilia is a typical example of what is known as the most close relationship between master and pupil. It was a sociocultural system built in order to hand down ideals and art. The educational relationship between master and pupil shown in the educational process of Plato’s Symposium starts with the teacher drawing close to the student with love. Feeling love, the tutee gets to breed love and faith in the tutor, then in what the tutor teaches, and then in knowledge itself, which ultimately leads both of them to reach a higher level of beauty. This study examines the meaning of teacher-student relationship in François Ozon’s movie In the House(Dans la maison, 2012) by analyzing Plato’s Symposium, The study seeks for a possibility of reciprocal relationship between the teacher and the student instead of education that transmits knowledge unilaterally. First, it investigates the relation between Germain and Claude as master and pupil in the general point of view toward Ancient Greek Paidophilia. Then, it observes their rapport in the perspective of ‘philia’ that is not erotic. In The House demonstrates the intellectual and mental growth of Claude in the process of educational relationship that begins by the lead of Germain. Claude is the target of special interest and affection for Germain, who is attracted by the talented disciple. Yet their relationship is not one-sided but forms an equal ‘philia’ that allows them to produce wisdom collectively.
