In Kyeongsang dialect, there is a distinction between -na and -no as interrogative clause enders. It is known that in this dialect -na is used in polarity questions, and -no , in information questions. But there have been few studies on how this rule applies to echo and rhetorical questions. This research examines the multi-faceted characteristics of echo and rhetorical questions in Kyeongsang dialect, focusing on question/indefinite expressions. We propose that -no is preferred to -na in rhetorical questions, which are found to behave in a parallel fashion to the canonical information questions. This means that the expressions that function either as question or indefinite ones occur together with the interrogative clause ender -no and are then construed as information-seeking question expressions rather than indefinite ones. It refutes the hypothesis that information question expressions in rhetorical questions are simply indefinite ones.
