음운론적 표상들의 추상성에 관하여: 러시아어 음소 shch를 중심으로

On the Abstractness of Phonological Representations: The Special Case of Russian šč

러시아어 음소 중 하나인 /sh´:/는 러시아어 음소체계에서 독특한 음소로 간주된다. /sh´:/는 다른 러시아어 음소와 비교할 때 소리의 길이에서 현저하게 길 뿐만 아니라, 단음소인 /sh/의 단순한 결합의 결과도 아니다. 이 논문에서는 필자는 /sh´:/가 러시아어 음소체계에서 하나의 음소로 분리되어 간주될 필요가 없음을 논하고자 한다. 이 과정에서 통합론적(syntagmatic) 논리를 유지하면서도, 계열론적(paradigmatics) 영역에서 논리의 파괴 없이 언어학적 경제성을 획득할 수 있음을 제시하고자 한다. 2장에서는 현대 표준 러시아어에서 음소 /sh´:/의 형태음소론적 특징을 먼저 살펴보고, 3장에서는 현대 표준 러시아어에서 /sh´:/의 음소적 지위를 살펴보면서 결론으로 이어진다.

A phoneme /sh´:/ is considered as one of the unusual phonemes in Russian phoneme inventory. Compared to other Russian phonemes, it is significantly long in length, and it is not the result of doubling of short phoneme /š/. In this paper, I propose that /sh´:/ does not need to be counted as a separate phoneme in Russian phoneme inventory. Certainly, the surface phone [š´:] does exist, but instead of occurring as a separate phoneme, it should instead be derived through the combination of several syntagmatic factors. Not only can we achieve a significant economy in the area of paradigmatics, but we can do so without any complication of the syntagmatics whatsoever. In chapter 2, I try to analyze /sh´:/ in contemporary standard Russian. In chapter 3, I suggest different approaches to analysis of the phonemic status of /sh´:/ in contemporary standard Russian, then conclusion is followed.
