문학작품 번역에 있어서 메타번역의 가능성 연구: 헝가리 문학의 『에지뻬르쩨쉬 단편집 (Egyperces Novellák)』을 중심으로

A Study on the Possibility for Meta-translation in the Case of Literary Works: Focused on the Egyperces Novellák of Hungarian Literature

많은 학문 분과에서 그 학문의 본질을 해당 학문의 방법으로, 그 학문의 틀 내에서 해석하고자 하는 것은 오랜 시간 동안 연구자들에게 매력적인 시도로서 지금까지 이어져 오고 있다. 이론, 혹은 용어는 추상적인 무수한 사고들이 언어로 규정되어 하나의 개념적 실재를 형성하게 되는 것, 또는 그 과정이라고 할 수 있을 것이다. ‘메타에지뻬르쩨쉬’, ‘메타번역’으로서 넘쳐나는 작금의 개념적 실재가 주는 혼란에, 경향이라는 핑계로 넌지시 또 다른 혼란을 부추기는 것은 아닌 지 저어하다. 하지만 본고에서는 새로운 용어에 대한 제시보다는 ‘개념적인 실재’에 방점을 둔 ‘메타번역’의 가능성에 대해서 살펴보고자 한다.

Metaegyperces is the method to interpret the egyperces (one minute story) written by Hungarian writer, Örkény István. To specify this concept of the metaegyperces, it can be applied to translate this egyperces into other foreign languages, and its core content is that the translators can supply their own interpretations of egyperces with the arrangement or combination of the works. The reason why this metaegyperces can be played as a role of serving new methodic alternative is that the egyperces is made up of many short short stories and despite of all stories are totally independent works, we or the readers can find something common ideas, thoughts or connected narratives among the separate works. So the translators can link the short short stories and it give the readers new horizon to interpret the egyperces. Therefore the metaegyperces can be classified as a methodology related to interpretation rather than a practical alternative concerned with translation. This article is based on the metaegyperces, but it may make the border of the metaegyperces widen. This article concentrates on the practical methodology that how the translators should pay attention to the key-words of egyperces which is separatively independent and isolated work from other egyperces, and at the same time, which is complicatedly tangled, connected with other egyperces. We can find some theoretical arguments those tell about the meta method related to the translation. Although this article treats with some theoretical background and shows them briefly, actually it is an argument, consideration for actual translation, not the theory. The theory is usually based on many of phenomena, but we can not find easily the method of meta translation, so when the results from the meta translation will accumulate enough, we may argue the meta translation with the view as a specified theory of translation.
