This study attempted to figure out how a semi-permanent makeup technician improves his/her skills and understands and approaches customers to achieve customer satisfaction. It examined the consultation process and analyzed the effects of the treatment, customer satisfaction and intentions to get the treatment again and recommend it to others. For this, a questionnaire survey was administered to 214 subjects. The results were as follows: First, among those in their 20s or older who had semi-permanent makeup treatment before, “at least once” was the highest in terms of treatment frequency. When asked which body part was most treated and revealed the best results, “eyebrows” was most frequently answered. In terms of the aspect to be considered most, “the makeup technician’s expertise” was the most popular response. Second, the respondents believed that it is effective to get the treatment from a makeup and image-making specialist at a semi-permanent makeup salon. When asked what has made them chose the salon, “seeing the treatment in person” and “word of mouth” were the most frequent responses. Third, satisfaction with the makeup and psychological satisfaction did have an effect on their intention to get the treatment and recommend it to others. To improve customer satisfaction and secure more customers, therefore, it is necessary for semi-permanent makeup specialists to build their skills through professional education and training.
